Here, glacial waters from Skjálfandafljót River plunge 12 meters over ancient lava fields in a spectacular horseshoe-shaped cascade, creating one of Iceland's most photographed natural wonders. Travel through the peaceful valleys of Reykjadalur and Aðaldalur to Grenjaðarstaður Museum, housed in one of Iceland's largest preserved turf houses. This remarkable dwelling, inhabited until 1949, showcases traditional Icelandic architecture with its lava rock walls and driftwood interiors. Explore rooms filled with authentic artifacts that bring Iceland's farming heritage to life. Before returning, relax at the enchanting Akureyri Botanical Garden with coffee and cake, surrounded by Arctic flora in one of the world's northernmost gardens.
