About the Exclusive Amenity

Village of Dolceacqua & Lunch

Name of Shore Event: Village of Dolceacqua & Lunch

Location Of Tour: Nice

Date Of Tour: 5/24/2026

Length Of Tour: 7 hours

Tour Description: Enjoy a trip to the Italian Riviera to reach Dolceacqua. It is divided by the river Nervia into two parts: “la terra” at the feet of Doria castle (XI, XII century) and “il borgo” situated on the opposite bank of the river along the road that climbs up the valley. In the Renaissance, the Castle became an imposing, elegant fortified residence, with new rooms rich in frescoes and furnishings, arranged around the central court. When there was no more space left for its expansion, the Terra quarter grew in height by the raising of the houses that reached as many as six floors. The bridge that Claude Monet had painted in 1884, defining it “a jewel of lightness,” is one of the most picturesque and famous views of the Ligurian inland. The village is also famous for the production of the Rossese di Dolceacqua. The Rossese is obtained from a unique vine, and it has a limited production. Perhaps this is the secret of Dolceacqua's unforgettable charm and sincere hospitality... After the guided walking tour, you will stop at an “Agriturismo”, which means Farmhouse, where they serve delicious meals prepared with the local products of their own lands and vegetable gardens, accompanied by the very famous and good red local wine, Rossese. The inside of the restaurant retains the original features of the building. After lunch, enjoy some free time strolling on your own, and then reboard the coach and drive back to the ship. Times are approximate and are subject to change depending on local traffic conditions, etc. The order of sites may vary.
